The National Osteopathic Student Seminar (NOSS) is an event organized by the Council of Osteopathic Student Government Presidents (COSGP) and is directed toward providing a pertinent educational opportunity for all osteopathic students. The topic for the seminar is selected by the Leadership Development Committee of the COSGP and the corresponding keynote speaker is invited to address the students. The NOSS is traditionally a one hour event that is concurrent with the dates of OMED.
Presentation by J.D. Polk, D.O., M.S., M.M.M, C.P.E, FACOEP. Dr. Polk has worked for the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) since 2011 and is currently the assistant secretary (acting) for health affairs and chief medical officer. Before working at DHS, he spent seven years in aerospace medicine at NASA.
