AACOM International Collaborative is an organization that works on developing international opportunities for osteopathic students as the interest in global health grows. AACOM IC is strongly dedicated to education surrounding global health and international rotations.
BIOMEA: As the osteopathic profession continues to grow the Bureau on International Osteopathic Medical Education and Affairs (BIOMEA), founded in 1998, takes care of multiple areas for osteopathic physicians and students. These things include licensure, registration and recognition of the DO degree in foreign countries, contact and opportunities with the World Health Organization and Pan American Health Organization and the international seminar and poster session at OMED.
The Osteopathic International Alliance (OIA) is a unifying body that represents the interests and efforts of thousands of osteopathic physicians placed around the globe.
DOCARE International is the organization that provides opportunities for osteopathic physicians and students to participate in medical outreach projects to places like Malawi, Guatemala and Nicaragua. In addition, if your COM or SOM does not have a student chapter established, please e-mail Mali.K.Schneiter@dmu.edu and find out how to get one started.
